SampleDiary™ Collection Kit

The LDX SampleDiary booklet* is intended to make it easy to collect a small finger-prick blood sample each day and record data using an associated smartphone application.

*Use of the SampleDiary device is currently limited to research and non-diagnostic purposes only.

SampleDiary™ Blood Sample Collection Kit

The purpose of the SampleDiary kit is to collect a small blood sample from the same person each day for 32 days, and then return the kit to SAT for processing. Each kit contains the following components:

  1. SampleDiary™ Booklet:  This credit-card sized booklet has 4 pages of absorbent paper, each with 8 strips for blood samples. The pages are held in a small ring binder in between clear separator pages that keep them from touching one another, all between rigid plastic front and back protective covers. (Patent Pending)

  2. Lancet:  An AccuChek FastClix commercial lancet (Roche) is used to prick a finger to generate the small blood sample that will be collected in the SampleDiary™.  This lancet contains a small revolving canister that holds 6 tiny needles for collecting 6 samples

  3. Relative Humidity (RH) and Temperature Logger:  This is a small device that displays RH and temp, and is meant to remain permanently mounted in the box.  Its function is to record RH and temp for the whole time you have the kit

  4. Humidity Control:  Four small white sachets containing molecular sieve desiccant soak up the humidity (atmospheric water) inside the box and keep the collected samples dry

  5. Case: The box is a clear plastic airtight box with 3 clamps that keep the contents sealed

Mobile Application

8 - LDX Sample Collection scroll v3.jpg

The SampleDiary mobile app allows the user to record the SampleDiary card number (via scan of QR code) and location of each daily sample, as well as a photograph of the card and the exact time and date of sample collection. The app also allows entry of free-form health comments, and a number of specific health parameters at the time of sampling when available (weight, temperature, blood pressure, glucose, HbA1c and exercise duration).

In addition, users having an Apple iPhone can allow the app to extract Apple Watch data via the Apple Healthkit (SPO2, heart rate variability, etc.)

TrialKit - eClinical Platform App

Combining data from blood samples collected in the SampleDiary kit with contextual information through the TrialKit smartphone app, allows for precise and personalized health tracking over time.
